When do I need a Sialendoscopy?

The human body has three main paired salivary glands namely the Parotid (around the ear), submandibular (below the jaw bone) and the sublingual (below the tongue). Any unexplained swelling of one or more salivary gland which is episodic (comes and goes) and associated with pain should be evaluated further. Some investigations like ultrasound or conventional radiology does help in confirming the diagnosis however, endoscopy is the gold standard and provides immediate symptom relief in unexplained scenarios.
